Video outpainting · Evidence and limits

Video outpainting limitations. Know what the result can change.

Three recorded examples establish a working preset. They do not guarantee unchanged pixels, exact brand details or consistent quality for every source.

01

What are the limits of this video outpainting workflow?

This release expands short MP4 clips into portrait or landscape using a fixed LTX 2.3 preset. It may modify original scene details, creates silent output and does not expose custom canvas placement. Three recorded clips show a working processing route and visible imperfections. They do not prove quality for all footage, unchanged source pixels, preserved audio or a production-ready result without review.

What the three samples establish

SampleObserved scopeEvidence gap
Unbranded bottlePortrait source expanded into a landscape sceneNo readable retail label or exact brand-preservation test
Ocean and volcanic shoreLandscape source expanded into a portrait sceneOne source and one result; no scene-quality benchmark
Horse on a beachMoving subject processed into a portrait canvasSoft detail and corner artifacts; no motion success rate

Use the recorded clips as inspectable evidence of these individual jobs. Do not read them as a guarantee for arbitrary source footage.

04

Spatial expansion is different from extending time

Outpainting adds visual space beyond the original frame. This workflow is not a tool for continuing a story after its final frame, recovering hidden original footage, removing objects or making a long clip longer.

The preset produces a fixed output budget rather than guaranteeing the source’s original duration or audio timeline. Recheck timing when you place the result in an edit. For exact source pixels, compare cropping, padding and outpainting.

The API lists additional resolutions, ratios and controls. We expose only the options validated through this app preset. A provider’s larger feature list does not mean this website offers those settings.

05

Limits before you spend credits

Does “without cropping” mean every pixel is unchanged?

No. The intended canvas grows around the fitted source, but this is a generative edit. Detail within the original region can change.

Can I choose 4K, square output or a custom position?

Not in this release. The workspace offers two output shapes and one nominal resolution tier. It does not expose a positioning control.

Can I request a refund because the clip looks wrong?

A failed or refused processing job returns credits automatically. A completed video with an unwanted visual result remains charged. That credit return is different from a refund of a card purchase.

Is a no-audio download a processing error?

No. Silent output is the preset’s stated behavior. Reattach authorized audio in an editor after inspecting timing and visuals.

Are private downloads the same as private provider staging?

No. Finished results are served through the owner’s account. The provider receives the source at an unlisted staged URL, which can be read by someone who has that URL until it expires.

Review the evidence before opening the workspace

The fal LTX 2.3 outpaint API was checked on October 8, 2026. Encoded dimensions, frame counts and visual notes come from our three returned MP4 files and provider request receipts, not a synthetic demonstration.

Inspect the product example, motion example and MP4 preparation guide. The outpainting workspace shows the task quote before you submit.

Check the evidence behind these examples

Inspect the source videos, returned files and full-frame test extracts. The public methodology identifies the preset, individual jobs, publisher and observations so you can review the evidence directly.
